THE FOUNDER

MARIA SARTIN

Hi, I’m a proud New Zealander from Aotearoa, and the founder of Uncontainable. Fitness and helping others have always been my passions, and throughout my life, I’ve been driven by the pursuit of greatness. From track and field to competing internationally, I’ve always been excited by big dreams and the challenge of reaching my fullest potential.

However, there was a time when I let false beliefs and the opinions of others hold me back. Growing up, I was always one of the more muscular girls. I was told that to become a better athlete, I needed to change my body, become thinner, and lighter. For years, I believed this and it held me back from reaching my true potential.

In my effort to meet these expectations, I pushed my body to extremes. I lost weight, and yes, I got faster — but not for long. I lost muscle, struggled with disordered eating, suffered from energy deficiencies (RED-S), injuries, and ultimately saw my performance decrease. No matter how thin I got, I was never enough, and I was only getting worse.

It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom that I decided enough was enough. I would no longer fuel the negative voices in my head. Instead, I chose to fuel my mind, body, and soul. Through this journey, I learned one of the most important lessons of my life: embracing who you truly are and accepting your body is the key to unlocking your full potential.

Uncontainable was born out of that realization. I wanted it to be more than just a brand — I wanted it to be a movement. A movement that unites women and makes them stronger, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Uncontainable is here to remind women that the only limits that exist are the ones we place on ourselves. When we are uncontainable of our limits, anything is possible.

We are strong. We are fearless. And together, we are UNCONTAINABLE.
